Q: Which is better - TurboTorch or BernzOmatic?
A: These are different classes of torches. TurboTorch is intended for professional use (high volume jobs requiring sturdy equipment), while BernzOmatic is more suited for DIY type projects. BernzOmatic does not have the technology, features and selection available from TurboTorch.

Q: What is the difference between Propane, MAP-Pro and Air Acetylene gas torches?
A: Propane and MAP-Pro burn at a significantly lower temperature than air acetylene. The latter is mostly used for professional plumbing and HVAC work which requires soldering/brazing a lot of connections and where higher burning temperature is helpful to make the process quicker. MAP-Pro and propane torches are a typical choice for low to medium volume plumbing jobs.

Q: Which torch model(s) do you recommend for general plumbing work?
A: STK-9, STK-99, TX-503 and TX-504 are all great choices for basic plumbing needs. All of them can use standard 14.1 oz propane/MAP-Pro canisters sold in plumbing supplies and home improvement stores nationwide. STK-9 and STK-99 models are especially popular due to versatility of it's 360° swivel tip which makes it easy to work in confined spaces. TX-503 and 504 models are better suited for new plumbing work.
