More about pipe fitting types available at PexUniverse
PEX Fittings
We stock all types of PEX fittings in lead-free and leaded brass, copper and poly (plastic) varieties, including Crimp, Press, Expansion, Push-to-Connect and Compression styles. Our PEX fitting selection ensures compatibility with all types (A, B, C & PEX-AL-PEX) and brands (Everhot, Sioux Chief, Viega, Uponor, Watts and others).
Copper Fittings
We stock a wire range of domestic and imported copper fittings in two types: Copper Sweat (solder) and Copper Press.
Standard copper pipe fittings for plumbing and heating applications we offer are manufactured from C12200 copper alloy, used by leading copper fitting manufacturers such as Mueller, Nibco, Elkhart and others. These fittings are NSF certified for potable water, lead-free compliant and are approved for potable water use.
Copper Press fittings utilize a press tool (available from fittings manufacturer or brands such as DeWalt, Milwakee and others). Both domestic and imported versions utilize the same high quality materials as Viega and Nibco and allow for early leak detection (mandated in some localities) with leak before press feature.
Threaded Fittings
We stock a wide range of threaded class #150 fittings for use with Black steel, Brass, Stainless steel and Galvanized steel pipes, commonly used for potable water, gas, wastewater and oil distribution.
PVC and CPVC Plastic Fittings
DWV (Drain, Waste, Vent) PVC fittings, Schedule 40 PVC fittings for water and CPVC fittings (CTS size) for potable water applications. These are solvent-weld type fittings which utilize appropriate type primer and cement to glue the connection together.
No-Hub & Transition Fittings
Primarily used for soil pipe (cast iron, extra-heavy cast iron, PVC) and DWV pipe (older copper or galvanized vent/drainage) in sizes from 1-1/2" to 6", these fittings are designed to connect/transition between different types and sizes mentioned above.
Universally Compatible Fittings
Push-to-connect or push-fit fittings, initially introduced by SharkBite are universally compatible with all CTS size plumbing pipe types, including copper, PEX tubing and CPVC CTS pipe. They do not require any special tools, glue (solvent) or soldering. Inserted into the fitting, the pipe is mechanically locked in place, preventing it from being pushed out by the water pressure, yet the pipe can easily be disconnected if needed.
Dielectric Unions
When water flows through two interconnected pipes made from dissimilar metals, such as copper and galvanized steel, these pipes are subject to galvanic corrosion. This process dissolves one metal while causing build-up of sediment on the other. Dielectric union has a gasket which effectively separates the pipes and helps to prevent galvanic corrosion.
